Having gone through the hard work of organising a wedding, the honeymoon offers a newlywed couple a chance to relax and take in the happiness of becoming married. So, it stands to reason that this holiday should be a trip of a lifetime. With so many amazing destinations to choose from, it can be quite hard to find the perfect place to go for your honeymoon. By doing a quick search online, you’ll no doubt find a huge amount of places that cater for honeymooning couples. But who does it really well, and where are the world’s best honeymoon destinations?

The Maldives

The Maldives are made up of over a thousand islands, with many of the smaller islands being transformed into luxurious resorts; perfect for couples on a honeymoon. The real beauty of these resorts is that they are completely isolated from normal life, with private beaches and more space than you could wish for. If relaxing on a beach, sipping a cocktail with no one else around sounds like your idea of heaven, then the Maldives could be the perfect destination for you.

Dubai

In the last decade, Dubai has quickly become known as one of the world’s most luxurious holiday destinations. With stunning hotels and resorts, warm weather all year round and more shops than you could shake a stick at, Dubai is an all round amazing place to have your honeymoon. If you want to stay in luxury then you’ll be spoilt for choice. Dubai’s famous palm is a manmade island designed with high class resorts in mind. Visitors can stay in the stunning Atlantis Hotel, swim with dolphins or bathe in private lagoons.

Barbados

No list of honeymoon destinations could be complete without somewhere in the Caribbean, and Barbados has won itself the nickname ‘pearl of the Caribbean’. With a climate that boasts all year sunshine, then Barbados is also a great option for couples getting married in the winter months. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of the islands towns, relax on the beaches sipping a rum punch, or get out to sea to enjoy many incredible activities such as fishing or diving.

Southern Thailand

Many people come back from Thailand telling tales about how hospitable the Thai people are. For that reason, Thailand offers a variety of great destinations perfect for honeymoon couples.
